Robert B. Miller is a partner of the firm. His primary practice areas include sophisticated commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation. He has extensive jury trial experience and has successfully prosecuted multi-million dollar cases both within and outside the bankruptcy court arena. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Miller served as Vice President and General Counsel of Renaissance Cruises, Inc., and, thereafter, pursuant to a retention agreement with the Creditor's Committee, played a prominent role in shepherding the company through a confirmed plan of liquidation, the appointment of a liquidating trustee, and thereafter, through litigation efforts, the collection of over $30 million for the benefit of its creditors. During the operational phase of his involvement with Renaissance, Mr. Miller was involved in all legal aspects of the company's business, including employment matters, admiralty, international law, and corporate matters.
Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science from Emory University in 1977, and a Juris Doctor degree from Emory in 1980.
Mr. Miller was admitted to practice in Florida in 1980. He is also admitted to practice in the State of Georgia and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida. Representative reported cases are: Visor v. Buhl, 760 So.2d 274, (Fla. 4th DCA 2000); Raimi v. A- 1 Bus Lines, Inc., 416 So.2d 863 (Fla. 3rd DCA 1982); and Sims v. State, 402 So. 2d 459 (Fla. 4th DCA 1981).
Mr. Miller joined the firm in 2004. He was born in Miami, Florida in 1957.
